TetherClaw's relay infrastructure is cloud-hosted and always available. However, your AI agent gateway (OpenClaw, Hermes, etc.) runs on your local Mac. Your Mac must be powered on and connected to the internet for your agents to be reachable. If your Mac goes offline, your agents will show as unavailable in the app — but the TetherClaw app, relay, and your chat history remain fully accessible at all times. This is expected behavior that you'll only notice if your Mac is asleep or offline.

Download and install OpenClaw from the official site.
Download OpenClaw →Create your TetherClaw account at tetherclaw.app, then copy your API key from the dashboard.
Open tetherclaw.app →Paste this command into Terminal on your Mac, replacing YOUR_KEY with the key you just copied:
curl -fsSL https://tetherclaw.app/install.sh | TC_API_KEY=YOUR_KEY bashLaunch the TetherClaw app. If this is your first time, you'll land on the setup screen automatically.
In TetherClaw, tap Scan QR Code and point your camera at the code shown on your tetherclaw.app dashboard.
That's it — your OpenClaw agents are now in your pocket. They'll appear in TetherClaw within a few seconds.
